Plymouth Marjon University traces its history to St John’s College, founded in London in 1840, and has held full university status since 2013. For Indian government posts, a UK degree usually needs UGC equivalence.

What to check for yourself
Any counsellor can make a claim. These are the checks that settle it, and they take a few minutes.
- Look the university up on the UGC listThe University Grants Commission publishes the recognized universities in India. Search the name there rather than taking anyone’s word for it.
- Check the mode of study is approvedDistance and online programmes are approved separately from the university itself, and that approval is programme-specific and dated.
- Read the eligibility on the exam notificationIf a government post is the goal, the notification for that recruitment states the qualification it accepts. That document decides it, not us.
- Get the fee and the intake in writingAsk for the total, what it covers, the instalment dates and the academic year it applies to, before you pay anything.
